The UNSW Kensington campus is desirably located between Sydney’s coastal eastern suburbs and bustling city centre. With trains, buses, ferries and the light rail connecting UNSW campuses across Sydney you are only ever a short bus trip to the famous beaches of Coogee or Bondi, or a light rail trip to Sydney’s inner city and iconic harbour. 

Every room includes utilities, fast Wi-Fi, secure facilities and staff on hand to support you and your needs at no extra cost. Many options include catered meals, an ensuite and room cleaning services. Our student apartments, colleges and facilities are safe and secure, and the UNSW campus security team is only a call away should you ever need assistance.  

College life is vibrant and full of exciting social events and experiences designed to enrich your university journey. From themed parties and cultural events to sports tournaments and movie nights, there’s always something happening to bring our community together. While you’ll have countless social opportunities and a community of peers around you, it’s only natural to want some ‘me time’ too. Your private room on campus is your own space to customise and make comfy. There are study areas to quietly work or get that group project done as well as quiet nooks, green spaces, sunny corners and cafés within walking distance to sit with your laptop and study.

When you live on campus, you join a proud culture committed to excellence in a community centred around your education. Our residents receive academic mentorship, make more peer connections and often study together. Social events are held outside of study and exam periods and UNSW’s learning spaces and student support services are conveniently found right at your doorstep.

Every year our diverse and inclusive campus accommodation becomes home to students from all over Australia and the world. Our current residents represent 60 nationalities, allowing students to share and experience new cultures and make friends from across the globe.

The connections you make living on campus will form the foundation of your professional network. Each college has its own elected House Committee giving you the opportunity to discover your leadership potential and connect with like-minded peers. Here you can take responsibility for organising social, cultural, sporting, and fundraising events. Every college has a team of Resident Assistants, employed part-time by UNSW, to offer daily academic and pastoral support to fellow residents. Additionally, Student Fellows create and run wellbeing initiatives.

Many of our residents go on to become elected members of the university’s Student Representative Council or lead and contribute to our student organisation, Arc.
