Dini holds a B.Eng. in Architecture from Universitas Sriwijaya and an M.Sc. in International Cooperation in Urban Development from TU Darmstadt and UIC Barcelona, specialising in Sustainable Emergency Architecture. Her previous work with the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing ranged from research and development to managing strategic infrastructures' rehabilitation and reconstruction process, including educational facilities. Her educational and professional background and living experience in a disaster-prone context made her interested in researching safer school infrastructures and one of the most susceptible groups—children, both from the lens of technical and non-technical aspects.
